As it happens, I've just read the recommended: Barry Danylak, Redeeming Singleness: How the Storyline of Scripture Affirms the Single Life. Then followed it up with John Piper's 'Single in Christ: a name better than sons and daughters' sermon. They are excellent - the book is so thorough, biblically rich and eye opening, and the sermon is a great summary of the book's main themes. What Danylak and Piper present is a theology of singleness that really challenges at a worldview level, as they shed light on the unique and stunning purposes that God has for 'singleness', which demonstrates to the world the sufficiency of Christ to recieve God's blessings.
