Hi Neil, thanks for the link on this. As it happens, I’ve just read the recommended: Barry Danylak, Redeeming Singleness: How the Storyline of Scripture Affirms the Single Life.
Jenny
Then followed it up with John Piper’s ‘Single in Christ: a name better than sons and daughters’ sermon. They are excellent – the book is so thorough, biblically rich and eye opening, and the sermon is a great summary of the book’s main themes. What Danylak and Piper present is a theology of singleness that really challenges at a worldview level, as they shed light on the unique and stunning purposes that God has for ‘singleness’, which demonstrates to the world the sufficiency of Christ to recieve God’s blessings. It would be really great to know your response to/thoughts of their works…
Hi Jenny. I will definitely read Danylak’s book now you have recommended it so highly. I’ll let you know how I get on!
